Happy October
Isn’t Fall a wonderful season? Hopefully this year will stop flying by, and slow down a bit so we can savor the wonderful month of October and it’s lovely cool weather.
If you’re a seasonal stitcher too, then you must be going through copious amounts of orange floss. Interesting thing about stitching with the seasons; you’re floss palette changes as the seasons do. Bright happy blue floss in the Summer bows off the stage and makes way for those lovely browns and oranges.
Speaking of seasonal stitching, I’ve got great news to report about my wip’s!
What I’m Stitching
Having set myself the crazy goal of finishing a project by the end of September, I’m pleased to report that I (very nearly!) hit my deadline!
I say very nearly, because I finished it on the morning of October 1st. Close enough right?
This is the first time I’ve stitched a Prairie Schooler chart, and I enjoyed it immensely.
It’s called “J is for Jack-O-Lantern” by The Prairie Schooler and isn’t that the most plump and beautiful pumpkin you’ve ever seen?
So I started this one a few years back, and recently decided that it had remained unfinished for far too long. Feels great having another finish! At first I was hesitant about the called for brown floss that made the body of the pumpkin, as well as the yellow floss for the flowers. Boy was I wrong, they both look great.
Now I can move on to my next project, a Halloween Moon stitched on black Aida.
