Happy Tuesday!
Although it’s a bit late, happy World Cross Stitch Day! Mind you, I didn’t know that World Cross Stitch Day even existed, but now that I do, I’m prepared for next year. Maybe I’ll make a chart in commemoration of the day… maybe. But that’s all the way in the future, and a whole year from now. Stay tuned!
WIP Updates
Last week, the stag in Medieval Menagerie while magnificent, was not quite finished yet. Not so this week:
Isn’t he amazing looking? The designer for this chart did a superb job with this stag! I was a bit more strategic than usual with my variegated floss, and I’m pleased with how it turned out. He looks much more blended, with a gradual change in color here and there, from that deep red, to garnet. That motif to his left is a part of a leaf (I think). This band with the stags is quite tall. I think it’s the tallest band since the minstrel at the very top. It’s definitely taller than the dragon band.
Last week I talked about how at the beginning of September, I will be putting away Paris Market until next Spring, and working on some more seasonal stitching. That post is here if you missed it:
Anyway, one of the problems I had this year when I started working on Paris Market again after a very long hiatus, was that I didn’t remember where I was on the chart (I don’t mark my charts, I just eyeball where I am) and I also had to re-learn a lot of the symbols. This time around I’m going to make my life a lot easier. I plan on finishing the stand of flowers, so that next year, I can jump right into stitching on the brown and beige road. The road is relatively easy, with a lot of half-stitches and nice big blocks of color, so I think it will be faster for me to get my bearings after a Fall and Winter break.
Here’s the progress I’ve made since my last update:
So much yellow! And that yellow floss twists a lot! Put the countdown clock on, because I have a little over two weeks to make my goal (I hope I make it!)

Quilts and cross stitch! This is a cross stitch of the classic Scottie dog quilt block.
The pictured model above was stitched on 18 count Ivory Aida, using DMC floss.
Stitch count is 60w x 60h.
Finished size on 18 count Aida is approximately 3-1/4 inches (8.5cm) wide by 3-1/4 inches (8.5cm) high.
In the pictured model above, I added initials and numbers. These initials and numbers will not be shown in the chart that is sent to you, that area will be left blank so that you can insert your own initials and numbers using the alphabet and numbers from the sampler.

Shop Update
Last time I checked my Instagram, I had 69 followers. When I hit 100 followers, I’ll be doing a giveaway!
I’ve been puttering around on my cross stitch design program, and this is what the letters chart looks like so far:
Nothing is final yet. I might go back and change some motifs, or edit some letters. But I like the way it’s turning out! I’m particularly fond of that flower motif on the far right hand side. In my mind’s eye, I can see another row of motifs at the bottom, with room for initials. Do you like it?

Did you know that Chef Boyardee was a real person? I didn’t until I watched this YouTube video! Also, the Ravioli is my favorite:
